Shango (Anthony Steffen) is a Texas Ranger who is happy that the war has ended. The South has been defeated and there is peace. This doesn't sit well with The Major (Eduardo Fajardo) and his band of Confederates, who along with the Mexican outlaw Martinez (Maurice Poli) and his outlaw gang, have been ransacking and terrorizing a local border town in their search for gold. How can one Ranger hope to defeat not one but two marauding groups who hate him?
Co-written by Anthony Steffen himself (under his real name Antonio De Teffe) and skillfully directed by Edward G. Muller (CJAMANGO / DON'T WAIT, DJANGO SHOOT! / A MAN CALLED DJANGO), SHANGO is an excellent example of the Spaghetti Western genre that has been languishing in obscurity for far too long. It has never been commercially released in a widescreen, English language version before.
