Also Known As LA CITTA GIOCA D'AZZARDO
Directed by Sergio Martino in 1974 and starring Luc Merenda, Dayle Haddon and Enrico Maria Salerno
Luca is a carefree card shark and hustler who lives day to day the best way he knows how. He eventually goes to work for The President, a very powerful and respected figure in the world of organized crime, who isn’t about to miss the chance to utilize such a talent. Things go smoothly until Luca falls for Maria Luisa. She is the so-called “property” of Corrado, the sadistic and cruel son of The President. They can’t resist the feelings they have for each other and soon find themselves on the run. Though his father despises Corrado for what he has become, he must side with his own blood. At least it seems that way; perhaps he has other plans? Luca and Maria Louisa try to begin a new life together but Corrado and his thugs don’t forget so easily. Besides, that gambler’s instinct has begun to surface in Luca once more… Haddon and Merenda shine in their roles. It’s exciting, violent, smart, tragic, and even features Haddon in some nude scenes. A very highly recommended movie that we offer uncut and in widescreen. English language with Dutch subtitles.
