Returning from the civil war, Johnny

discovers that his father was killed

by the bandit named Santana and

that his mother has married his uncle,Claudio,

a shady individual : the latter seems to have killed

Santana in a duel. Johnny, very doubtful about the matter,

finds out that Santana is still alive and forces him to

confess that the order to kill came from his uncle.

Revenge becomes Johnny's only aim.
